I think the word count for my target page is incorrect.

There are several reasons POP may show a word count that is different from what you expect.

1. Hidden or template text

Website templates can add text that is not obvious when viewing the page. The original article recommends comparing POP's count with the SEOQuake Chrome Extension because both use a similar approach to counting page text.

2. Wrong or redirected URL

Open the Summary tab and confirm that the target URL is correct. Click the URL and make sure it loads the expected page rather than redirecting somewhere else or returning a 404.

3. The page did not crawl correctly

If the word count is extremely low and other signal values are also zero, the target page may not have been crawled properly. In that case, the recommended solution is to use the POP Chrome Extension to crawl the page.
